About Us

Meet our Funeral Director

John F.X McKeon & Son Inc. Funeral Home, its predecessors and staff have served the Bronx area since the early 1900s. We are proud of our heritage, service, commitment and integrity. We strive to educate our staff and friends about the options associated with funeral care, while at the same time, continuing to grow, internally, through education.

Our purpose is to provide excellent service and value for each individual family, while showing compassion and high-quality professional service in a manner consistent with the values of our founder John F.X McKeon.

Our mission is to meet your needs and with that your needs become our mission.

John F.X. McKeon opened the doors to his first funeral home nearly a century ago in 1906. Time progressed and the McKeon family grew older. In 1996 the current funeral director, Ed Garity passed away leaving the business to his wife, Laurine, who was John's sister.

In 2000, William T. Curran purchased the funeral home and took his place in the history of the McKeon legacy of keeping the funeral home locally owned in the Bronx, where he continues as the current funeral director.
